Why You’ll Love It
The hygger Fish Waste Collector (HG141) efficiently removes large impurities, uneaten food, and surface oils before they reach your main filter. Designed with a dual sedimentation chamber and double valve outlet, it captures solid waste separately for easy disposal. With automatic restart after power outages, adjustable water flow, and a no-drill hanging design, it’s the perfect pre-filtration system for aquariums over 30 gallons.
Key Features
External Fish Waste Collector
The HG141/HG183 fish waste collector features a dual-chamber impurity collection system and a double-valve disposal mechanism. Each chamber collects debris separately. It effectively separates and rapidly removes large impurities, minimizing the need for frequent filter cleaning and reducing the frequency of filter media replacement. This double valve system increases filtration efficiency and reduces sponge media replacement.
External Hanging Filter Accessory
Hangs on the tank’s exterior—no drilling required. The hygger aquarium waste collector offers a hassle-free alternative to traditional PVC pipes, eliminating the need for tank modification or drilling. It preserves internal aquarium space; only two pipes are submerged, keeping your tank interior spacious and quiet. Suitable for both framed and rimless aquariums.
Ideal for Customizing Filtration
The fish waste collector consists of two distinct components: water inlet and outlet pipe fittings. The modular system requires an additional bottom container filled with filter media and a water pump, making it ideal for customizing filtration in long or large-sized aquariums. It also allows for flexibility in matching with sump tanks to accommodate a variety of filter materials in different types and quantities.

When a power outage occurs, all operations stop automatically. Automatically restarts after power restoration. Prevents backflow or overflow during outages and resumes filtration smoothly when power returns.
The hard pipe can be cut according to the height of the aquarium (cutting tool included), the white tape to wrap around water leaking connections, and a pipe brush for easy cleaning is included. The water outlet valve allows for adjustable water flow, helping to prevent overflow in the fish tank.

The fish tank collector can connect to any bottom container with media and a water pump (not included). Perfect for hobbyists customizing advanced or large filtration systems.
Usage Tips
Note:
- The system requires a pump to provide siphon flow.
- Clean the sedimentation chambers regularly; do not let waste accumulate for long periods.
- Use the included brush to maintain the stainless steel mesh.
- Apply white sealing tape to any joints that risk water leakage.
- Match with your preferred bottom filter or media container for customized results.
Choose the Right Model of HG141/HG183 Fish Waste Collector
1. The grey and red model needs an installation before use in the fish tank.
2. The installation-free kit model can be installed directly into the fish tank after opening the box.
How It Works – Collector Operation Steps
- Fish waste and food particles settle at the bottom of the tank.
- The system sucks impurities and dirty water through the intake pipe.
- The 304 stainless steel mesh intercepts large debris and prevents clogging.
- Remaining large particles fall into the sedimentation chamber for collection.
- Use the rotating outlet valve to release dirty water and debris without dismantling the system.
The system’s dual-chamber design ensures a continuous flow and reduces the frequency of filter maintenance.

works great on my tank recommend large sump to operate correctly
I love it. Works very well
It’s keeping my tank cleaner than before! I love that it came with its own cutting tool!
This is a pretty neat setup! We have had a little difficulty balancing the flow (it would be better with gate valves rather than the stiffer ball valves.) but it does as it should. We have found out if the output can “burp” on restarts and can cause the water to raise and potentially spill. I have found if you can slow your pump to not be overwhelming it and start closing the discharge pipe slightly to slow flow thus allowing it to keep the “burps down”. Also for those finding it hard to find parts for this i just used a 3/4” steel fitting (heated) to “cut” threads in bottom of the valves and then you can put on whatever fittings you desire. I did this to all 3 on the discharge so i can add barbed fittings with hose to go to the sump as well as drains. Great product (with quirks)
Good product after repairing the leaks. You need to improve your customer service. Great merchandise but POOR customer service.
Love it!!!
