Thorough filtration
The built-in pump drives the full filtered water circulation:
-First, the rotating drum filter traps particles, food debris, and fish waste.

-Finally, a one-touch drain removes accumulated debris quickly. After multiple layers of filtration, clean water flows out of the outlet.
Easy replacement
hygger aquarium dual flow filter comes with 2 bio-sponges and 1 PP filter media for fine filtration. The filter media can be added or replaced as needed.
Usage Tips
- One of the filter cartridges is already fully assembled and ready to use.
- It is recommended to clean/change the sponge cartridges every 2-4 weeks.
- Rinse or squeeze the sponges by using the aquarium water & avoid tap water.
- You can connect the drain pipe to quickly discharge sewage.
Installation Tips:
- HG283 filter fits a 1.4″ frame or glass maximum. Please measure your tank’s plastic frame size and glass thickness before installing it.
- The minimum water level in the tank should be no more than 10.5 inches below the aquarium rim.

I liked this filter pretty well. The filter is strong, so I believe it outputs the 120gph stated in the specs. It came with a funnel and was easy to install—although I did have to rely on the instructions. The instructions were not super well written, but I was able to decipher them without much hassle.
This is an excellent dual flow aquarium filter – bringing you the style of cannjsyer filtration in a HOB (or hang on side for easier access) configuration. This is rated at a 120gph flow, which is comparable to the HOB I was using before. Previously I also had to use a baffle to diffuse the water returning to the tank at the surface, but with this underwater outlet I don’t have to deal with the constant churn of my floating plants being pushed down to the substrate. The water flow is excellent, and with the aeration bubbles I can see just how strong and effective it is.
