Key Features

Fully submersible

This hygger 802 titanium aquarium heater can be completely submerged in water horizontally. It has 2 suction cups and can be easily installed on the fish tank. Place it where the current is strong, so the entire aquarium will be at the same temperature. It comes with a separate controller so you can easily adjust the low to high temperature without taking the heater out of the aquarium or fish tank.

Shatterproof and corrosion-resistant

The hygger titanium heater has no glass in its construction, making it completely shatterproof. It is made of heavy-duty and durable titanium heating elements. Because of its strong corrosion resistance, it is ideal for freshwater, seawater, and coral reef aquariums.

Pinpoint temperature

Built-in external electronic thermostat with dual LCD can display Celsius or Fahrenheit temperature settings. “Up” for the aquarium temperature, “down” for the set temperature. When the temperature rises to your desired temperature, the heater will stop heating. The heating temperature range is 32°F to 104°F. Control accuracy is +/- 0.2°F.

Automatic shutdown system

The temperature can be controlled and set according to your needs. When the specified temperature is reached, it will automatically turn off.

Usage Tips

1. Always keep the heating rod and temperature probe completely submerged in water.
2. Before disassembling the titanium aquarium heater, disconnect the power supply and wait 30 minutes for it to cool.

How to Set the Temperature?

1. Place the heating rod and probe in the aquarium and completely submerge both.
2. After plugging in the power supply, the red indicator and LED digital screen display the current water temperature.
3. Press the “Set” button to set your desired temperature, and it will blink for 3 seconds. It will then return to show the current water temperature.
4. The heater starts to heat up.

Replacement of the heating rod

Please choose the heating element if you want to replace the titanium heating rod.

Warm Tips

1. This heater is not suitable for acrylic cylinders.
2. There is no protective cover, so it is unsuitable for turtle tank use.
3. Do not bury it under gravel because gravel does not conduct heat.
4. Do not use the heating rod alone! To avoid overheating, thermostats and temperature detectors must be used. Keep the heater and temperature detector submerged in water.
5. For safety reasons, it is not recommended to use this temperature controller for other brands of heaters.

How do you choose the right-watt heater?

The rule of thumb is 2.5 to 5 watts per gallon. It depends on how cold the room is and the size of the aquarium.

Q: The heating rod is not working or heating, what should I do
A: In this case, please put the heater in a bucket alone and set the temperature.
Then use a thermometer to test the water temperature and observe whether there are small bubbles around the heating rod. Please kindly check if the controller is working well.

Last November, I purchased HG802-200W for a 37-gallon aquarium, and a HG802-100W for a 10-gallon aquarium. The “titanium” is very important because it means the heater is not made of glass, and thus, the heater is shatterproof. Can you imagine the mess inside the tank if you hit the heater with a gravel vacuum and the heater shattered? Another aspect of the HG802 I really like is the temperature controller, which displays the desired temperature and the actual water temperature. It is very easy to setup, and it has a really nice digital display that is easy to read. Another great feature of this product is the temperature probe, which is why I purchased this particular model. My 37-gallon tank is 30x17x17 inches, so given the dimensions of the tank, I was concerned the water would be warm near the heater but cold on the opposite side of the tank. The probe solves that problem. I included two photos in this review. One photo shows the heater, the probe, and bubbles from the Invisible Nano Air Stone (HG049-45MM). The other photo is the heater’s controller. The air pump in the photo is the AC Ultra Quiet Air Pump (HG095-4W). I will do separate reviews for the air pump and the air stone.

  3. Easy setup and works flawlessly. My only criticism is I would have liked a longer cable for the sensor.

  4. Second heater I purchased and no problems so far. I’ll probably buy a third heater for another tank.

  5. The Hygger Titanium Tube Submersible Pinpoint Aquarium Heater with Digital Thermostat,IC Temp Controller is the best aquarium heater I have ever purchased, it maintains the desired temperature exactly where you want it to be. I could not be happier. I do wish however Hygger Titanium Tube Submersible Pinpoint Aquarium Heater was available for larger aquarium. Great product, I am very pleased.
