I’ve had it for almost a week or so now and it’s great, my red eared slider loves it and I think it looks pretty cool, I didnt know the light would be blue tho so if you want a certain lighting aesthetic then probably not the best color wise but I don’t mind, does great tho and holds strong inside the mesh.
I really like this UVB/UVA combo light! It gives off a nice, medium brightness—bright enough without being blinding. The UVB output works great too. I love how lightweight and simple the design is—it doesn’t take up much space on the tank lid, so there’s still plenty of room for my heat dome.
It was super easy to set up, and swapping out the bulb is a breeze. The cord length is just right for my setup
I’ve been struggling to find a new reliable UVB bulb since my local pet store stopped carrying mercury vapor bulbs. All of the bulbs I’ve tried have sent my beardie into hiding and leave her less energetic than usual, and she’s old and not particular energetic to begin with, so this is extremely problematic. I grabbed this fixture and bulb combo with hopes that it would fix some of these problems for me and her. It was incredibly simple to install on the screen top of her tank, and it turned on just fine. The bulb had been very carefully cushioned in the packaging, so it arrived in perfect shape. Immediately after introducing my beardie to the new light, she climbed up on one of her branches and stayed put for the rest of the day, just basking in the uvb. She has been so much more active and is back to eating regularly and climbing up on her favorite basking spots. I could not be happier to have found such a simple fix for her setup! I can’t recommend this enough. Very reasonably priced, too, considering it is a combo kit and includes instructions and hardware for multiple mounting options.
