Why You’ll Love It
For someone who wants to know the specific gravity and salinity range in brackish and marine aquariums. The hydrometer supplies an optimal salinity range indicator PPT scale with an extra-wide stabilizer base.
Key Features
Accurate Salinity Tester
hygger aquarium hydrometer is accurate and reliable aquarium salinity test equipment. It delivers precise full-range salinity and specific gravity readings. It also includes a built-in base so you can rest the hydrometer on a countertop or other flat surfaces when taking salt readings. The salinity tester fits brackish and marine aquariums.
Specific Gravity and Salinity PPT Scales
The hydrometer supplies an optimal specific gravity/salinity range indicator PPT scale with an extra-wide stabilizer base. The Bubble diffuser on the water intake prevents micro-bubbles from forming on the needle. It is very easy to fill and convenient without wetting your hands.
Wide Usage
Perfect for testing both salinity and specific gravity of your brackish and marine tank. Suitable for fresh water and seawater. The salinity tester is made of transparent acrylic material, which is relatively hard and easy to read.
Easy-to-Read Marine Hydrometer
The aquarium hydrometer is easy to read and use. Simply dunk it in the aquarium to fill it with water, then put it on a level surface to read the scale. The easy-to-read swing-arm pointer and extra-wide stable base provide an accurate test result.
The reading is temperature-corrected and accurate to +/-0.001. The unit of specific gravity is 1.000-1.030 (ppt value: 0-43.9 degrees), the safe area is 1.020-1.023 (ppt value: 30.2-34.2 degrees), and the low specific gravity area is 1.000-1.019 (ppt value: 0–28.9 degrees), the higher specific gravity area is 1.024-1.030 (ppt value: 35.5-43.9 degrees).
Usage Tips
How to use an aquarium hydrometer salinity tester?
1. Insert the hydrometer into the tank or the fishpond until the plate spills. (slowly filling to prevent bubbles from attaching to the pointer)
2. When it reaches the full state, take out the hydrometer and place it on a horizontal surface.
4. Read the specific gravity according to the inner scale, and read out the salinity (PPT) according to the outside scale. We recommend that the sea density is between 1.020-1.023, which is the safety line.
5. Rinse with clean water after each use.
Tips:
1. When first using the hydrometer, to achieve higher accuracy, please fill it with warm water and detergent, cleaning out the oil inside.
2. The air bubbles attached to the needle will lead to inaccurate readings. Carefully use the stick to blow the foam to dismiss the bubble.
Cleaning hydrometer tips: salt crystallization on the pointer will cause inaccuracy in reading. If the salt is in the hydrometer, the hydrometer can be soaked in warm water or vinegar for 30 minutes, then rinsed with tap water and air dried.
