These are not overly loud but not “whisper quiet” either, more like a steady background hum easily ignored. I’d rather have the security of a battery back up air pump in case of a power failure than silence anyway. I currently have 10 tanks and 7 are filtered with Hygger sponge filters all powered by Hygger compact aquarium air pumps!
This is a great compact air pump that is very quiet with a good deal or airflow.
