Safe Mechanism
The hygger 969 aquarium heater ensures the safe maintenance of optimal temperatures for your fish. It is equipped with an automatic shut-off feature to prevent overheating and will reset once the temperature returns to a safe level. The heater also has a safety mechanism that turns it off when removed from the water, resuming operation when it is placed back into the water.
Overheating Protection
The HG969 aquarium heater features a built-in overheating protection mechanism to regulate water temperature safely. It will automatically shut off when overheating and reset once the temperature drops to a safe level.
Energy-saving
The 500W/800W heater operates fully when initially plugged in. You’ll see “Max” displayed on the screen during this phase. Once the desired temperature is reached, the heater automatically switches off. When the water temperature drops by about 1 degree, the heater resumes operation at a lower energy setting to maintain the set temperature, indicated by “ECO” on the temperature controller.
Easy to Set The Temperature
Press and hold the button on the controller, and it will cycle through the available temperatures within the range of 68°F to 93°F (20°C to 34°C) and a margin of +/- 2 degrees Fahrenheit.
The heater will stop heating when the water temperature reaches the set temperature, and it will restart heating when the water temperature is 0.5℉ lower than the set temperature.

The heater is built with a durable titanium steel heating element that is corrosion-resistant and shatterproof, making it ideal for use in freshwater aquariums. There are 2 strong suction cups on the clip to install the heater horizontally or vertically on the fish tank wall easily. Usage Tips
Setting the Temperature:
1. Installation: Position the aquarium heater rod underwater and secure it to the tank’s wall.
2. Power Up: Plug in the heater. The LED digital display will flash three times, indicating the current water temperature with red indicator lights.
3. Temperature Selection: Press the “Set” button to enter your desired temperature setting. The display will blink for three seconds to confirm.
4. Heating Process: The heater will begin to warm the water. Upon reaching the set temperature, the indicator light will change to green.
Aquarium Heater Tips:
1. Avoid Contact with Substrates: Ensure the heater does not come into contact with sand or gravel on the tank bottom to prevent damage and ensure even heating.
2. Proximity to Filter: For optimal performance and to prevent overheating, it is recommended to place the heater near the tank’s filter.
3. Submersion Requirement: Do not plug in the heater unless it is fully submerged in water to avoid any risk of damage.
4. Safety Precautions: Always unplug the heater before conducting a water change to ensure safety and maintain the heater’s integrity.
5. Please note that this heater is not suitable for saltwater.

The original order didn’t make it to me on 9/16, but I finally received it today 10/1. Looks good. I haven’t tried it so I won’t comment on its quality at this time.
Does great and I like the display.
I been using this heater for over a year and last week when I checked it had a “Er” error code. This means that the heater is out of the water. Well it’s not and it’s well below the minimum. After contacting service and sending a small video clip with a picture of the problem they are sending me a brand new heater.

I love this heater. The units works great keep 220 gallons at a steady temperature, I like the design of it as well , I got tired of seeing the typical glass heaters in the tank. Also a very long power cord meant it doesn’t strain the power cord when installing in a tall tank. The digital controls are also excellent way to change the temperature if needed.
