Porous structure & High flow rate
hygger bio brick is composed of countless 0.3 mm diameter nano balls (made from ceramic forged at high temperate) with an optimum pore structure that lets water flow through it easily and provides a sufficient surface area to help the bacteria grow and thrive. Therefore, it reduces the level of ammonia and nitrates.
Keeping water pristine and clear
These bio filter media assists to remove ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. It reduces foul smells, various sorts of blemishes, and discoloration. You’ll have clear water in a short time.
Suitable for most types of aquariums & filters
A perfect biological filter media to use indoors or outdoors for sump tanks, marine and freshwater fish tanks, ponds, canister filters, and hang-on filters. It is a neutral filter media that helps to keep your aquarium’s pH level at 7 or so.
Cost-effective & Less maintenance
This biofilter media is reusable by rinsing it lightly with aquarium water every month. With proper care and maintenance, it can be used for 3 years. Change roughly 1/3 at a time every 3-5 months, and replace all once a year.
36-count bio-bricks
The package includes 36 packs of ceramic bio-bricks, approximately 4.4 lbs that’s enough for 45-75 gallons of water.
Note: For the reef tank, it is suggested to complete it with the Jaubert system or Berlin system as these bio-media lack anaerobe. Do not use this bio-media as the only filter media when building up a reef tank filter system.
Directions for Use
1. Rinse the Nano brick with tank water and soak it in tank water for 3 hours to remove the dust.
2. Stack filter media in the final stage of filtration or directly put it into your pond or tank, then add some nitrifying bacteria solution. Put a filter pad before this bio-filtration media to remove floating impurities.
3. It is recommended to clean part of the bio-bricks monthly. Be sure to rinse with tank water for the well-being of the bio-system.
4. When the media is aging, replace the part (not all) of bio-bricks. It is recommended to replace all of them once a year.

I like how porous this media is. You can actually draw air through it, so water should easily pass through it and colonize beneficial bacteria. Great product.
